2024 Junior Award Recipient

Dorothy Protz

GFWC Brown Deer Junior Woman’s Club

Dorothy has been a member of the Club for 25 years, served on the Board for most of those years, and is often a mentor to new Board members.  She has been instrumental in leading many projects throughout the years, never hesitates to suggest a new project, and has led or assisted on new and ongoing projects. During Covid she changed the Club’s focus so that members could continue working for the community through hands-on volunteering projects that did not include meeting as a group. This has continued since its inception.

Dorothy welcomes input and assistance from other members and is always willing to lend a helping hand, thought, or idea when asked.

Dorothy always brings new opportunities for the Club from something she learned from other clubs through district and state meetings and by reading local, district, state and international publications.

Dorothy works tirelessly to publicize the Club and activities on various social platforms and has daily and weekly goals to get this done. Her efforts have helped increase attendance at the Club’s events and increased Club membership.

In addition to her Club activities, she assists her husband with his business, is a hands-on grandmother to her five grandchildren, and is a long-time member of a book club.

Dorothy has served at the district level as Scholarship Chair for three administrations, Trustee for one administration and is currently Recording Secretary. At the State level,. she served as Junior Special Projects Chairman for one administration and Page to the 2024- 2026 President.  She has also completed Mini-Leads 101 and 102.
