Helen Farnsworth Mears Art Contest:
Implemented at the GFWC-WI club, district, and state levels, this annual art contest for 7th and 8th grade students, public, private, and home-schooled, is unique to GFWC-WI. It was begun in 1927 to honor the memory of this great woman sculptor born in Wisconsin, to encourage artistic talent, and to recognize the achievement of student artists.

GFWC-WI State Member Art & Photography Contests
Objective: Encourage and recognize members' and youth artistic expression and achievements.
To enter the GFWC Photography and Short Story/Poetry Contests, members need to enter the state contest first. Winners from the state will be forwarded to Headquarters for final judging. THe only exception is the Calendar Contest which members can enter directly.

These contests are open to any dues paying club member of the GFWC-WI who is an amateur (making less than $500.00 annually on photography) and takes photographs for a hobby. State winners of "The World in Pictures" and "GFWC Volunteers in Action" Photography Contests will be sent on for national judging annually. "A Year in Pictures" (Calendar Contest) is only a national contest and is sent directly to GFWC Headquarters by May 1, 2013 and 2014.
